Full Description
A series of extractive pits and spoil heaps are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs and lidar along the steep west facing ridge to the east of Encombe House (1-3). They are probably associated with medieval or later limestone extraction and were digitally mapped as part of the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
