A dispersed group of small circular hollows are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of Slepe Heath, Arne taken in 1946 (1). It is possible these could be the remains of Second World War fox holes associated with military trainaing activities. These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project. They are not visible on the most recent Google Earth imagery, this are now being under modern plantation.
