A line of five possible Second World War weapons pits are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 1946 on Newton Heath. The earthworks are formed of small oval pits, measuring approximately 3 m by 2 m, surrounded by banks of spoil. (1) These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
