Full Description

A possible Second World War trackway, which appears to connect two groups of possible military buildings is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1946 on Ballard Down. The trackway extends across Ballard Down from east to west for a distance of approximately 850 m. (1) The trackway follows a route that is still in use, but deviates from the modern path around the locations of two groups of possible military buildings (see MDO30836 and MDO30837), which it appears to connect. These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
