The remains of a probable Second World War heavy anti-aircraft battery is visible as structures on aerial photographs of 1946 on Dean Hill. Only the bases of HAA battery structures were visible on the available photography, consisting of six gun emplacement bases and three smaller structures. The features are visible over an area measuring approximately 55 m by 65 m. (1) These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
