Full Description

A probable Second World War tank training area is visible as structures and earthworks on aerial photographs of 1946 on Dean Hill. A tank training track is centred at SZ 01094 81661 and four firing targets formed of linear banks are located in an east-west oriented line to the east. The features are visible over an area measuring approximately 885 m by 225 m. (1-2) These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
