Full Description
An early modern gravel pit is marked here in on the 3rd Edition OS Map (1), located along the southern edge of Worgret Heath, Arne. This feature is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs taken in 1945-46 (2-3). It was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project. It is still visible as a cropmark on the most recent Google Earth Imagery.
