A block of Second World War allotments is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of the 1940s, to the east of Bell Street in the Herston area of Swanage. (1) Areas were given over to cultivation during the Second World War as part of the "Dig for Victory" campaign. These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
