Full Description
A block of Second World War allotments is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of the 1940s to the east of Litchfield Copse at the western edge of Swanage. (1) The area is now under pasture. (2) Areas were given over to cultivation during the Second World War as part of the "Dig for Victory" campaign. These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
