Full Description
A extractive pit is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of Wareham Forest taken in 1947 (1). It is one of several similar pits recorded in this area (see also MDO30725-27) and is considered likely to be post modieval or modern in date. Earthworks associated with this extractive pit are extant on the most recent Google Earth imagery. This feature was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
