A post medieval extractive pit is visible as an earthwork on lidar imagery of 2010 the north of Athelhampton Road, Burleston. The pit is located on the Portsdown Chalk Formation and measures 68 m by 43 m. (1) This feature was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
