A post medieval extractive pit is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs of 1944 to the north of Waddock Copse. The pit is located on an area of sand and clay and measures 45 m by 35 m. (1) This feature was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
