Full Description
Slit trenching of possible First World War origin is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of Morden Heath, Wareham St Martin (1-2). It is overlain by tank trackways associated with a Second World War military training area (MDO30558) and may even have seen some reuse duing this period. This site was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project. Another area of possible First World War slit trenching is located 180m to the north-east (MDO30559). These features are not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial images available to the project.
