A Second World War military training area is visible as tank trackways and anti-landing obstacles (MDO30561) on aerial photographs of Morden Heath, Wareham St Martin, taken between 1941-47 (1-3). The tank tracks overlie possible First World War slit trenching (MDO30559-60). This site was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project. Some of these features are still visible as earthworks on the most recent comprehensive aerial images available to the project (4).
