Monument record MDO3054 - Bowl Barrow, on Came Down, Winterborne Came

A stony mound, probably a ploughed out bowl barrow. The site is visible on aerial photographs and was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway project.

SY 69878710 and 69908717. These two mounds look like barrows, but the area is covered in very tall grass and field investigation could not be conclusive. If they are barrows, they are very low. <1>

SY 69868710 A stony mound, diameter 16.0m and height 0.2m, no visible ditch, probably a much ploughed out bowl barrow. No trace of the other mound at SY 69908717, but a ring ditch about 22.0m in diameter, is visible on OS air photographs (a) at SY 69888716. Re-surveyed at 1:2500 on MSD. <3>
