Five post medieval extractive pits are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery and aerial photographs of the 1940s between Clyffe Copse and Tincleton. The pits are located on chalk and sand and measure between 17 m by 12 m and 65 m by 502 m. (1-2) The central pit is marked on the 1st edition OS map. (3) The features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
