Full Description

Three post medieval chalk pits are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery and the 1st edition OS map, adjacent to Dark Lane, to the north of Tincleton. The pits are located on sand and measure between 30 m by 18 m and 57 m by 50 m. (1) Two of the pits are marked on the 1st edition OS map. (2) The features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
