Full Description
Four post medieval chalk pits are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery of 2010 to the east of High Wood, to the south of Athelhampton. The pits are located on the Portsdown Chalk Formation and measure between 23 m by 26 m and 60 m by 33 m. (1) The features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
