A post medieval extractive pit is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs of 1947 to the west of Tincleton Hang. The pit is located on Portsdown Chalk Formation and measures 30 by 20 m. (1) This feature was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
