A post medieval extractive pit is visible as a soil mark on aerial photographs of 2005 at South Admiston, to the south of Athelhampton.The quarry appears to have a track leading up to it, oriented north east-south west and measuring 40 m in length. The pit is located on Portsdown Chalk Formation and measures 65 m by 60 m. (1) This feature was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
