Full Description

Four post medieval chalk pits are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of the 1940s on Kite Hill to the south of Kite Hill, south west of Puddletown. The pits are located on the Portsdown Chalk Formation and measure between 9 m by 10 m and 75 m by 32 m. (1) The features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
