A post medieval chalk pit is visible as an earthwork on lidar imagery to the north east of Puddletown. The pit is located on chalk and measures 50 m by 50 m. (1) The pit is marked as "Old Chalk Pit" on the 1st edition OS map. (2) This feature was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
