An 'Old Chalk Pit' is marked on the OS 1st Edition map to the west of Woodmans Cross. It is visible as low earthworks on 2010 lidar. A smaller extractive pit lies immediately to the south. (1). The site was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
