The probable sites of two Second World War bomb craters are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs to the north of Whitcombe Hill, Winfrith Newburgh (1-2). The features are no longer visible on the most recent Google Earth imagery. The site was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
