The probable site of a Second World War bomb crater is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1946 to the west of Portway Farm (1). The small round hollow is 5m across and still visible on the latest Google Earth imagery (2). The site was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
