Full Description
'B' Ditched double bowl barrow. The mounds, 20 yds apart, are 56 feet diameter by 4 feet high, joined by a saddle 56 feet wide rising one foot above surrounding ground. Both surrounded by same ditch. (Grinsell describes two barrow here, and two are visible on air photographs with the same surrounding ditch). <1-2>
'B' SY 68668620. Twin bowl barrows, each 20.0m. in diameter and 1.4m. in height, connected by a 'saddle' or ridge 0.7m. in height. The common ditch is visible on the east side only, for a length of 30.0m. approximately. Re-surveyed at 1:2500 on M.S.D. See ground photographs. <4>
Ditched double bowl. The almost contiguous mounds, 56ft. In diam and 4ft. High, are joined by a broad saddle 1ft. High. The whole surrounded by an oval ditch. Double bowl barrow surrounded by oval ditch on Came Down Golf Course. Visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs <1> and digitally recorded for the South Dorset Ridgeway Project.
