A pit is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of fields to the south of Stokeford Common, Easte Stoke (1). It overlies a river terrace deposit and is considered likely to be the remains of a post medieval gravel pit. This feature was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
