Tank trackways, slit trenches and foxholes associated with Second World War training activities are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of South Heath taken between 1946-47. A majority of these features have since been destroyed by modern quarrying activity in this area.

Full Description

Tank trackways, slit trenches and foxholes associated with Second World War training activities are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of Stokeford Heath taken between 1946-47 (1-3). These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project. They are not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial images available to the project, having since been destroyed by modern quarrying activity in this area.
