Full Description
A modern gravel pit is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of Stoke Heath taken in 1946 (1). It is one of several gravel extraction sites in this area. This feature was plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project. This pit is still visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial images available to the project, although now disused and heavily obscured by scrub.
