Full Description

Group of barrows on Came Down Golf Course: 'B' Bowl (68468584). On centre of ridge running toN.W. 34 yds. E.N.E. of 'A'. Diam. 84 ft., ht. 10 1/2 ft. Tree-covered and damaged on E. <3>

'B' SY 68458583 Diameter 25.0m, height 4.3m. In good condition. No ditch visible around any of the barrows. All resurveyed at 1:2500 on MSD. See ground photographs. <4>

A bowl barrow, part of a group on Came Down Golf Course. Listed by Grinsell as Winterborne Came 17 and by RCHME as Winterborne Came 11. It was described by RCHME as a tree-covered mound 84 feet in diameter and 10.5 feet high, with evidence of damage on the east side. In 1980, the Ordnance Survey recorded it as being in good condition, and measuring 25 metres in diameter and 4.3 metres high with no visible traces of a surrounding ditch. <3-4>
