Full Description
A Romano-British disc brooch of probable mid first to late second century date, was found near Badbury Rings. The precise findspot is not known.

A Romano-British disc brooch was found near to Badbury Rings (ST 9603 approx) and is in the possession of Poole Museums. The brooch is a disc type plate brooch of mid 1st to late 2nd century type and can be parallelled with Hattatt No. 124 (Hattat 1982, 139).
The brooch has a central boss and originally six peripheral knobs all decorated with concentric circles. The outer band is of pale blue/turquoise enamelling with six almost black spots each with a central yellow dot. The inner band is deep red with four deep blue panels. The brooch is in good condition although some of the knobs are missing and some of the enamelling has weathered.
