An area of shallow linear earthworks are visible on aerial photographs of Lower Hyde Heath taken in 1947 (1). They are considered likely to be the remains of post medieval or modern extractive activity. This site was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project. Some of these features are still visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial images available to the project.
