Full Description
A circular hollow is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of Lower Hyde Heath taken in 1947 (1). It is considered possible this could be the remains of a bomb crater or fox hole associated with Second World War activities in this area. This feature was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project. It is not visible on the most recent aerial images available to the project, this area now being under plantation.
