Monument record MDO29991 - Medieval ridge and furrow, Woodbury Hill, Bere Regis

A group of parallel linear ridges are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of Woodbury Hill. They are located just to the north-east of the ramparts of an Iron Age hillfort (MDO7148) and may be contemporaty with it. Alternatively these may have a later historic origin, possibly the remains of medieval ridge and furrow or associated with the annual fair once held at the hillfort (MDO7149).

They are located just to the north-east of the ramparts of an Iron Age hillfort (MDO7148) and may be contemporaty with it. Alternatively these may have a later historic origin, possibly the remains of medieval ridge and furrow or associated with the annual fair once held at the hillfort (MDO7149). These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project. They are still visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial imagery available to the project.
