A trackway running north-south across Chesil Beach is visible on aerial photographs taken in the 1940's (1-2). It is considered likely to be associated with Second World War military activity in this area. This feature was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). It is not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial images available to the project.
