A small square structure surrounded by a barbed wire enclosure is visible on aerial photographs of Lower Bridge Farm, Chickerell, taken in 1946 (1). It is considered possible this could be the remains of a military site associated with Second World War activity in this area. This feature was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). It is not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial images available to the project.
