Monument record MDO2979 - Boundary bank, Whitcombe Farm, Whitcombe

Please read our .

Summary

A deposit interpreted as a boundary bank was recorded in 1998 during archaeological evaluation of the site for the proposed construction of a new stable yard. The deposit may be associated with an adjacent trackway and field boundary to the south. A single sherd of 13th-century pottery dated this feature to the medieval period or later. The possible bank deposit sealed a layer of colluvium.
