A Second World War barbed wire enclosure is are visible as a structure on aerial photographs of the 1940s on Chesil Beach, to the north west of of a Royal Navy fuel store, Castletown.

A Second World War barbed wire enclosure is are visible as a structure on aerial photographs of the 1940s on Chesil Beach, to the north west of of a Royal Navy fuel store, (see MDO19665), Castletown. The site consists of a sub-rectangular barbed wire enclosure, visible on three sides and measuring 145 m by 100 m. A cleared area, possibly the site of a group of buildings associated with the enclosure is located on its eastern side. (1) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
