Full Description
A Second World War barbed wire enclosure is are visible as a structure on aerial photographs of the 1940s on Chesil Beach, to the west of of a Royal Navy fuel store (see MDO19665), Castletown. The site consists of a sub-rectangular barbed wire enclosure, measuring 160 m by 65 m. (1) A group of small buildings, which may be associated with the enclosure, are located to adjacent to the landward side of the site (see MDO ). This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
