‘FLINTS FROM WHITCOMBE (SY717883). A flint side-scraper was found at Whitcombe Deserted Medieval Village by a visitor in July 1985. A number of flints, including tools and waste flakes, were found in the field on the other side of the road, west of the DMV area, at SY714883), in 1978-79 by students of DIHE. All this material seems to be of early/middle bronze age date.
The material, together with notes and measurements, is deposited in Dorset County Museum. We are grateful to Mr S. Fox, who made the 1985 find, for drawing it to our attention.’
