A building of possible 19th century date is visible as a structure on aerial photographs of the 1940s adjacent to East Weare Batteries, Portland. The building is of uncertain function, but may have been associated with military activity at East Weare Batteries or the Verne Citadel. (1) The building is marked on the 2nd ed OS map. (2) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
