Full Description
The remains of a trackway leading to a group of earthworks are visible on aerial photographs taken in 1942 (1) to the north east of Chickerell Hive Point, Fleet. They are thought to date from the Second World War and are considered to be military in origin due to there close proximity to Chickerell Camp (MDO893) and there location on the access route for the naval decoy recorded at Chickerell Hive point (MDO29731). The features are not visible on the most up to date comprehensive imagery available to the project (2/3). The site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
