A group of possible Second World War military buildings are visible as structures on aerial photographs <4-5> of the 1940s at the western edge of Tout Quarries, Portland. A number of the building bases are still visible as cleared spaces on aerial imagery of 2009. <6> The buildings may be associated with a possible searchlight base (see MDO29712). One of the buildings may be that referred to in EHA record 1413229. This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
