Full Description
A possible Second World War slit trench is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of the 1940s at the northern edge of Tout Quarries and to the south of Fortuneswell, Portland. The trench is formed of a ditch measuring 3 m in length, flanked by banks. The trench is located to the east of a light anti-aircraft battery (see MDO29709) and may have been associated with it. (1) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
