A group of possible military buildings of Second World War date is visible as a structure on aerial photographs of the 1940s to the south of the the Verne Citadel. The buildings are located to the north of a heavy anti-aircraft battery and may have been associated with it, or with Second World War activity within the Verne Citadel. The buildings are visible over an area measuring approximately 115 m by 110 m. (1) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
