Monument record MDO297 - Bowl barrow, one of the West Hill Group, Bincombe

This barrow was 26 paces in diameter and 2 feet in height. On arable 1953. <2>

The West Hill Group of round barrows consist of: (C) Ditched bowl (?) (70198462) 55 yds. NE of (B). Slight rise about 70ft in diameter, with traces of original ditch on air photograph (V.A.P. CPE/UK 1821 6444). <3>

'C' - SY 70188461. Ploughed over. Diameter 24.0m approximately; height 0.8m. None of the barrows has a visible ditch. Re-surveyed at 1:2500 on M.S.D. <4>

Bronze Age barrow, visible as a low earthworks on aerial photographs. One of a group of barrows on West Hill. The site was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.<7>
