Full Description

An area of possible ammunition pits or foxholes is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of the 1946 in Weston, Portland, adjacent to Bowers Quarries. The earthworks may also be small extractive pits. The earthworks consist of at least 14 small pits surrounded by, or flanked by, banks of spoil. (1) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
