A Second World War anti-glider obstruction is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of the 1940s on Sturt Common, Portland. The obstruction is visible as a mound and is probably associated with an area of similar mounds located to the west (see MDO29662). The mound is sub-oval and measures 12 m by 9 m. (1) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
