Six 19th century to modern coastal limestone quarries are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of the 1940s on the eastern coast of Portland Bill. The quarries are visible over an area measuring approximately 280 m by 55 m. (1) The site is still visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial imagery available to the project. (2) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
