The possible site of a Second World War coastal gun battery. A dispersed group of four structures are visible on the clifftop above Burton Beach on aerial photographs taken in 1942 and 1948, they may be associated with the gun emplacement described in MWX1300.

Full Description

The possible site of a Second World War coastal gun battery. A dispersed group of four structures (possibly building platforms and/or gun emplacements) are visible on the clifftop above Burton Beach on aerial photographs taken in 1942 and 1948 (1-2), they may be associated with the gun emplacement described in MWX1300. The features were digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
